PUBLIC STATEMENT
HONOLULU, June 22, 2023 – The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum and Melanie Ide have settled their dispute. Bishop Museum wants to publicly acknowledge that as president and chief executive officer, Ms. Ide articulated a vision for the Museum and contributed significantly to strengthening Bishop Museum's position as the premier museum of the Pacific. Bishop Museum is grateful for Ms. Ide's numerous positive contributions and wishes her continued success. Ms. Ide wishes the staff and Bishop Museum well as they continue serving the community. Neither Bishop Museum nor Ms. Ide will comment further on this matter.
